Mo Micro Review |
Despite the improbable circumstances of this daddy/daughter
film, College Road Trip is a fun family tale of an
overprotective father and a wing-spreading daughter.
The
film stars Martin Lawrence (Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins and)
Raven-Symone (That’s So Raven) as the father/daughter duo James
and Melanie Porter who are at odds with each other over
Melanie’s college plans. Pop Porter is keen on Melanie attending
Northwestern, while his little princess has set her sights on
Chocolate City’s Georgetown. The tandem embarks on an
event-filled journey to the nation’s capitol during which dad
hopes to convince his daughter that it’s better to be a Wildcat
than a Hoya.
Roger Kumble directs this broad physical comedy. College Road
Trip also stars Kym Whitley, Donny Osmond, Eshaya Draper and
Albert the Potbelly pig. (M. Lowe, MOSAEC.com) |

Small time crooks and a brunette bombshell bumble their way
through historic bank heist, creating enemies on both sides of
the law. Jason Statham (Crank, Transporter) stars as Terry, the
leader of the crew that brazenly robs Lloyds Bank, using jack
hammers, pick axes and shovels as aids in their feat. Better
know for fast paced action flicks, in the Bank Job, Statham’s
broader acting range is revealed.
Roger Donaldson directs this clever and entertaining politically
thrilling comedic drama. The Bank Job also stars Saffron
Burrows, Stephen Campbell Moore, Daniel Mays, Richard Lintern,
David Suchet, and Peter De Jersey.

Synopsis |
Inspired by an extraordinary true event, The Bank Job is a
highly charged thriller, which interweaves a heady combination
of intrigue, danger and scandal set in early 1970s London.
In
September 1971, thieves tunneled into the vault of a bank in
London’s famed Baker Street and looted safe deposit boxes of
cash and jewelry worth millions. None of it was recovered.
Nobody was ever arrested. The robbery made headlines for a few
days then suddenly disappeared -- the result of a UK Government
‘D’ Notice gagging the press.
The
film reveals what secrets were hidden in those boxes, and the
story behind the heist which included a conspiracy involving
murder, corruption and a sex scandal with links to the Royal
Family -- a story in which the unlikely thieves were the most
innocent of all. (Studio). |
