Forgetting Sarah Marshall: This Time “He” Gets Dumped |
|
Synopsis |
Struggling musician Peter Bretter
(Jason Segel, Knocked Up, How I Met Your Mother) has spent six
years idolizing his girlfriend, television star Sarah Marshall
(Kristen Bell, Veronica Mars). He’s the guy left holding her
purse in paparazzi photos and accidentally omitted from
acceptance award speeches. But his world is rocked when she
dumps him and Peter finds himself alone. After an unsuccessful
bout of womanizing and an on-the-job nervous breakdown, he sees
that not having Sarah may just ruin his life.
To
clear his head, Peter takes an impulsive trip to Oahu, where he
is confronted by his worst nightmare: his ex and her tragically
hip new British-rocker boyfriend, Aldous (Russell Brand), are
sharing his hotel. But as he torments himself with the reality
of Sarah’s new life, he finds relief in a flirtation with Rachel
(Mila Kunis), a beautiful resort employee whose laid-back
approach tempts him to rejoin the world. He also finds relief in
several hundred embarrassing, fruity cocktails (Studio). |

Mo Micro Review |
Asking the question many have pondered
publicly and privately, Morgan Spurlock (Supersize Me) sets off to
find numero uno on America's Most Wanted list - Osama bin Laden.
To track public enemy number one,
Spurlock bids his very pregnant wife adieu and undergoes very basic
training in preparation for his journey to the Middle East. During
his whirlwind tour of duty, Spurlock visits one terrorist hotbed
after another, doing what he is famous for - inserting himself in
the middle of his examination of a noteworthy topic.
And
whether he captures the man that releases periodic basement tapes to
taunt the US of A is ultimately not as important as the filmmaker’s
exposition of the conditions that create the Osamas of this world
and the hopes and dreams of those that reject extremism in any form.

Synopsis |
If Morgan Spurlock has learned
anything from over 30 years of movie-watching, it’s that if the
world needs saving, it’s best done by one lonely guy, willing to
face danger head on, and take it down, action hero style. In
WHERE IN THE WORLD IS OSAMA BIN LADEN?, the Oscar nominated
filmmaker takes on a franchise even more lethal than
McDonald’s—Al Qaeda. And after this real life action thriller is
over, the world may never be the same.
So, with no military
experience, knowledge or expertise, he sets off to do what the
CIA, FBI and U.S. military have all failed to do: find the
world’s most wanted man. Why take on such a seemingly impossible
mission? Simple—he wants to make the world safe for his soon to
be born child. But before he finds bin Laden, he first needs to
learn where he came from and the environment and influences that
shaped him (Studio). |

Mo Micro Review |
Forget Felix Unger and Oscar Madison,
the odd couple for this generation is Harold Lee and Kumar Patel,
portrayed with undeniable appeal by John Cho and Kal Penn,
respectively.
After returning from their
obstacle-laden burger run, the stoner duo decide to journey to
Amsterdam where getting high is a national pastime. In addition to
getting their smoke on, the two hope to track down Maria – the
object of Harold's desire. But their European vacation veers wildly
off course. When Kumar tries to take an in-flight toke with a
smokeless bong, his contraption is mistaken for a bomb and the
roomies are arrested as a new jack North Korean/Al Qaeda cell.
A neurotic wuss to Kumar's
pugnacious persona, Harold decides to seek the assistance of his
well-connected buddy Colton and ask him to intervene on their behalf
and help them clear their names with the Homeland security gestapo.
To do so, the Harold and Kumar must travel to Colton’s Texas
homestead where Colton is set to marry Kumar's ex-girlfriend. Along
the way, the road tripping Gitmo escapees are hounded by the bigoted
Al Qaeda hunter, Ron Fox.
A film
that casts a wide comedic net, no ethnic group is spared as the
film's off color humor boldly eschews political correctness. Escape
from Gitmo is an entertaining satirical fusion of comedy’s many
threads. (M. Lowe, MOSAEC.com) |

Synopsis |
Harold & Kumar Escape from
Guantanamo Bay marks the triumphant return of these two
hilarious, slacker anti-heroes. The movie stars John Cho as
Harold and Kal Penn as Kumar, two stoners who can’t seem to get
a break. Their last adventure found them traveling across
country to find a White Castle hamburger in order to satisfy a
weed-induced case of “the munchies.”
This
time, the boys get themselves in trouble trying to sneak a bong
onboard a flight to Amsterdam. Now, being suspected of
terrorism, they are forced to run from the law and try to find a
way to prove their innocence. What follows is an irreverent and
epic journey of deep thoughts, deeper inhaling and a wild trip
around the world that is as “un-PC” as it gets. (Studio). |
