News & Reviews |
Former soldier now farmer, Dan
Evans (Christian Bale), joins a posse to escort the infamous
stage coach robber, Ben Wade (Russell Crowe), to the chain gang.
But the journey is fraught with challenges. The posse must evade
Wade’s crew and overcome obstacles placed in their path. And of
course, Wade is not the type to go without a fight. A bandit
with an eclectic killing code of honor, Wade demonstrates that
teasing him or talking about his momma with a fork or cliff
nearby is a bad idea.
A
revamped version of the 1957 original, the Western is directed
by James Mangold (Walk the Line). In its current iteration, 3:10
to Yuma features strong performances by Crowe and Bale and has
moments of quirky humor and genuine camaraderie (R. Prioleau,
MOSAEC) |
