The
four comics, portrayed by Guy Torry, Darrin Dewitt Henson, Todd
Williams and Tami Roman, respectively, work on their material, work
multiple jobs and work the open mic to bring the funny and secure
their big break. The four face obstacles on their journeys that test
their resolve and their friendship. And for one, the pressure to
succeed coupled with the stress of the daily grind is overwhelming
and ends in suicide.

Parr structures the revelation of his characters’
personal stories around the tragic death of one the jokesters from
the rooftop of the comedy club. Using flashbacks and deliberate
editing, Parr draws audiences in to the drama of these performers’
lives of laughter and tears.
