The Cast and Crew of Before the Rains Take New York By Storm
By Marona Lowe

Santosh Sivan’s breathtaking Before the Rains is an exquisite blend of East and West that has romance, drama, and intrigue in equal measures. Featuring a cast and crew that hail from Asia, Europe and America, the film wonderfully fuses universal themes of friendship, trust, love and betrayal in a historical milieu. Set in 1930’s India, the engrossing film that overflows with symbolism and natural beauty stars Linus Roache (“Law & Order,” Priest), Rahul Bose (Mr. & Mrs. Iyer), Nandita Das (Fire, Earth), Jennifer Ehle (Tom Stoppard’s The Real Thing and The Coast of Utopia, BBC’s “Pride and Prejudice”) and John Standing (V For Vendetta).  MORE >>>

Theatrically released by Roadside Attractions and Merchant Ivory, the cast and crew made press appearances in New York City prior to the film’s premiere at the prestigious Tribeca Film Festival.

With a film so steeped in East and West, it is no surprise that the cast and crew made press stops on the East and West sides of Manhattan. Interviews began at the swank SoHo House in the trendy Meatpacking District and shifted in the early evening to the headquarters of the Consulate General of India located in the tony Upper East Side Historic District.

Undaunted by an overcast day with occasional precipitation, where the cast and crew went, MOSAEC.com followed in an effort to get the story behind Santosh’s Sivan’s panoramic treat.
