Yo! You're definitely on point, your statements are accurate and factual. But unfortunately, society does not seem to acknowledge such truth, but hopefully one day, the majority of people will realize Hip-Hop's significance and it's true purpose. A magnificent culture inwhich neutralizes depressiveness, and brings about EXPRESSIVENESS, just exactly what it did for me. This positive way of life needs people like you to preserve it and expose the factors that intend to weaken it, long live the voice of the ghettos! ( Hip-Hop ) Much Love, P.A.K.

Hip-Hop, to me right now is like that kid in class that gets C's and D's and the teacher says he could get A's if he would just apply himself. MC's, record labels, and fans all have a part to play in the end. Mc's need to be themselves instead of puppets. Record labels will be record labels that's the nature of the business, they gravitate toward what they percieve is hot. If being socially-conscious is hot the will try to exploit it at all costs. Then once it dies down they will drop it in a heartbeat. Labels and radio stations pretty much dictate to us hip-hop fans what they think we should be hearing. And we like voiceless zombies openly accept it. As a fan you have the right to listen to what you please. But to be honest with you I would never refer to a woman of any race, especially a black one as a female dog. And even though I try to get my brothers to understand this, its hard to do when women are embracive of that type of language being used toward them. That's not to say all women do, but truthfully 1 is enough, really. Let's stop making excuses saying: "well that's not me." Well even if it isn't what are we doing about the situation at hand. Because eventually it will come a time when it will be out of our hands, and in the hands of the ones who are now looking up to us. However with all this being said hip-hop should have a bright future if we start making some modifications. Realistically things won't all change over night, but we need to start going in the right direction. And also when need to learn to take criticism if it is constructive, instead of saying your hating, find out why people feel like they do. I look at the word hating as a cop out excuse to not address issues at hand. I am an aspiring artist myself and I will be in the light soon. Even if it kills me I will do my part to make sure we get the ball moving in the right direction.

-Peace

Quilo
