GREAT article on Ms. Staley! God Bless her in all that she does to give back to the community!

Ms. Foeman wrote an OUTSTANDING article that even a non-sports lover as myself could enjoy. THANKS Lisa! I'm looking forward to future articles and future editions of this magazine.

Ms. Prioleau, CONGRATULATIONS on your new magazine. I feel you've hit on to something that is here to stay!

Sincerely, Betty Banks

I really enjoyed the article on Dawn Staley. I have watched her since she played at the University of Virginia. It is very refreshing to see an athlete give back to the community, in particular the children. Ms. Foeman gave another view of a star athlete that often goes unreported. Thank you for allowing us get a glimpse of the real person outside the game. William Boatwright Fredericksburg, VA

This article gave me an insight into Dawn Staley professional life, and her personal life. I felt I was interviewing her myself. The article was precise and to the point. "Keeping it real," and not hung up on the writer own opinion. Thumbs up to Dawn Staley commitment, and her accomplishments, and hurray to the writer who stayed focus on the subject. I'm impressed!

I enjoyed the article on Ms. Staley. It is always great to read articles on the Women's Basketball League which often doesn't get as much notorization as the Men's League. Ms. Foeman covered a lot of areas that interested the reader. Keep up the good work! Can't wait for your next article.

The article on Dawn Staley was great. As a former UVa classmate of Dawn's, I'm glad to see she's still doing well and is giving back at the same time. Thank for an article that goes beyond a black athlete's ability to play.

I thoroughly enjoyed the excellent article about Dawn Staley. Although I am an avid sports enthusiast, I generally am only interested in articles pertaining to the NFL, MLB or the NBA. This article was excellent and Mrs. Foeman did an outstanding job of stirring my interest in the WNBA and one of the premiere players in the league. It is refreshing to hear the story of an athlete that feels compelled to give back to the community. I am looking forward to future articles. Keep up the good work Lisa!

Dawn Staley has always been an inspirational figure . . . not just for girls or women, but for all people who wish to achieve great things despite the odds. When I was in Philadelphia a few years ago, I saw a four or five story portrait of Dawn Staley on the side of a building on Market Street. Such is a fitting tribute to a woman who casts such a large (and positive) shadow . . .

Dawn Staley has been my inspiration as both on and off the court. I can't imagine a better role model for a young girl like myself. Her dedication, talent, desire, humility, and honesty should be acknowledged more. Thank you so much for the article, I love to read about her and I was so happy to find this one. It really shed more light on her personally. Dawn, you are the greatest... keep doing what you do. You have have so many fans out there that will support you. Much love

This comment isn't just for the article, but for dawn staley too. I just wanted to say that I love dawn, she's my favorite WNBA player. We met after the game of sting v.s indiana fever in charlotte. We took a picture, she signed my autogragh, and then before I left I ran up to her gave her a hug and told her thank you for the autograph. So I would like to say that I love this article because I love Dawn Staley and this article gives me more information about her.And I will continue to search for more information about this wonderful women whom shared extra time than she was supposed to with a 12 year old girl,me, Autumn Michele(pronounced michelle)Jackson, her biggest fan. ( P.s.) Oh, and my dad said I was in love you.And I ran up to you when you were at the free throws and gave you a hug,at the end of the game that you played fever (aug.20,2003).It was at the season ticket holders special thing. If you get this after aug.31 than you can talk to my dad mark jackson, He knows some of the staff.

That is an excellent articleabout an excellent woman. It's a wonder there are not many more people in the "spotlight" that could commit themselves as she has done. The insight you have given on such a quiet, monumental player shows that your talent exceeds the standards. Good luck on your endeavors and congrats.

I have followed dawn staleys career since i first seen her fine self playing for virginia.Isaid to myself, how can a girl so fine have game like that!I was in 9th grade Hoopin my butt off also,I thought maybe if I keep it up I'll even get to meet her one day.Well I did but it aint got nuthin to do with me being a basketball player. One day I was downtown sacramento summer of 1999 I seen her walkin with 3 more wnba girls I dont know who they were because dawn had my attention I couldnt believe my eyes.So I walked up behind her and said "dawn",she didnt hear me but one of the other players did and got her attention and when she looked around I froze up(Iwas way out of my body)so I played it off and asked for an autograph for my sister,I think she kinda knew I was full of it.If you read this Dawn I just wanted to tell you that what you are doing for your old community is positive keep balling and keeping it real!peace
