Early reports are in and plenty of you watched NBC's six part series Kingpin.  Kingpin chronicles the machinations of the Cadena drug cartel and the enforcement agencies charged with waging the war on drugs.  As the dust settles on the new series, the time is NOW to voice your opinion.  Whether you want to praise and save it or dis' and dismiss it, we'd like to know what you think about this show. I do agree with critics that there's a lot of violence in this series and may project harmful stereotypes. But I also realize that the setting of a television show isn't Hispanic culture. People who look at Kingpin or any other show and think all Hispanics are like the Cadenas need to look in the mirror and analyze their racism.

I think it's by far one of the best shows on Network TV. Why should HBO have all the great shows?? NBC needs to keep this going and it will continue to gain its audience.

A far better than average TV product of any kind--it draws you in and make you care about what happens next. In my experience, that's unusual for any TV narrative. Yancey Arias is charasmatic, contemporary and convincing.

I think the show is one of the best we've seen in years. It's shows like this that viewers will return to instead of the current "reality show" hype which will die a quick death in the near future. We need more entertaining dramas such as "Kingpin".

i thought it was a great twist on the popular mob series. it's also good because traffic was on of my favorite movies and this show gives me the same joy as traffic did. i hope that it will continue to air on NBC. job well done. bravo to the actors and actresses.

This show is great. It encapsulated all of the factors needed to make a compelling drama. Detractors who talk about negative stereotypes are out of line, the charecters here are in no way portrayed in such a way that would indicate that they are representitive of all hispanics. I agree that there should be a more diversified offering for hispanic viewers. This is a crime drama first and formost, and it succeeds on that level. A single show cannot be expected to satisfy the media needs of an entire ethnic group. This show in particular should not be judged based on its merits as a "hispanic" crime drama any more than The Cosby Show should have been judged as a "black" sitcom. Both shows are simply good television.

I felt that Kingpin demonstrates the balance of culture, power, and family. Violence is the not the focus of the show. It is real life. It grips you for the start to the end. I hope that the series continues

i live in australia and we only just got this fantastic show. surrounded by the normal banal crap we get it was such a pleasure to watch something with effort put into it. if another network doesn't pick Kingpin up, we will have nothing to watch.

i never really had a chance to watch the show when it was on the air, but now i regret it. this show was really good. after watching the whole six series on dvd my friend and i agree that it was a really good show and that it should not have been cancelled. we also had a thing for chato.

I thougt it was a great show. It's like the Sopranos except the story lines are better and the actors have more talent. The characters are real and interesting. NBC should pick the show up for more seasons to come. It's unique - and it's even more unique because it's the only original show on cable tv. If NBC doesn't pick it up - hopefully another network will be smart enough to adopt it.

The show is great. Finally a network show that is not about cops or detectives. That's all there is now days. Every single show is about some police department of a branch of the government. That's too much already, please, kingpin is just what the doctor order. Finally something different.
