Since I know both Brad Braxton and Toni Cunningham, it was great to read their thoughts
in print. I also know very well Lisa Foeman and I applaud her journalism skills.

It's so discouraging singing these little light hearted ditties. There is power and
annoiting in the old hymns. There is theology that will carry you through the week you
don't get in the ditty songs, there is no substance to them. If they would spend the time
and effort on the hymns as the fluff songs it would make a difference. I'm not against all
modern music but when that's all they play and so dang loud it hurts your ears! Enough!

We have two services, a contemporary and traditional. Since we started the contemporary
service our young adult Bible study has grown from one study to 5. We are meeting people
where they are and letting Jesus do the rest. The contemporary service brings in people
that would not normally come to a traditional church service with the pipe organ and
choir. (Which I love just as much as the contemporary music.)We have not changed the
message of Christ, just the method.

An added comment to my first...
The contemporary music in our service is very much about our personal relationship with God and most of it comes directly from scripture.
