Cinematically, the film has a lot to offer. The story of this young girls attempt to
heal her wounds is ambitious, yet I had problems with the script. It was flat at times and
sometimes underacted.

This movie was great. I love how the girl did the project on black men are endangered,
but the filmmaker focused on the two girls. Thank you Cauleen I was kind of tired of all
those Boyz N the Hood Movies. Don't get me wrong some are good, but what do girls have to
go through?

The kind of film we need more of. Proof that beauty is everywhere. If you don't see it,
perhaps you can help create it.

Satisfying film about a young woman's artistic impulses initially clashing, but
gradually coming into harmony, with the fact that she has limited resources (like a small
budget and frustrating family situation). I'm glad that her coughing wasn't turned into a
medical tragedy. I have a quibble with the serial killer subplot, in that it distracts
from the more common cause of death of young men in West Oakland and that the outcome in
the film is a bit confusing. But it's a minor matter in a film that promises a handsome
filmmaking career for Cauleen Smith.

Terrific film about the unexpected in art and life. It uses a simple plot to tell a complex story, the same way the main character uses simple things to make her art. It's connections, not aesthetics, that really move us. The killer subplot distresses me, but I applaud the theme of women rescuing each other. Brava!
