This article was the bomb! Tiki and Ronde turned out to be such great men because of the dedication of a loving mother. It does my heart good to know that these young men appreciated her loving care!

I have followed the careers of the Barber brothers ever since they were at UVA. I have read a great deal about the twins' athletic success (and academic success) and very little about the woman who brought them into the world. It was very refreshing to read Lisa Foeman's article for the simple reason that credit was given to the woman who was instrumental in helping mold Rhonde and Tiki into the successful young men they are today.

A great article about two great athletes and the mom that inspired them to be the winners that they are. I was also impressed with the emphasis Mrs. Barber placed on education.

Good luck to the Barber Family. You deserve everything that you have worked hard for.

I enjoyed this article tremendously. It is always nice to hear about the "human" side of professional athletes. I look forward to reading more about the Barber Brothers, especially since football season is nearly upon us.

Great article...I enjoyed reading about how these outstanding athletes were shaped by their mother. Lisa Foeman's piece shows the importance of having positive role models; they bring out the best in all of us.

Very inspirational article! These days it is not uncommon to see stories of spoiled, self-centered athletes. It is heartwarming to read a story about two brothers who are scholars, gentlemen, good sons, AND professional athletes. Kudos to the author for doing such a fantastic job!

This was an interesting article. I easpecially liked the part where Mrs Barber admitted that she was more proud of her sons for graduating from college than she was of their getting drafted into the National Football League.

This article was truly inspiring. Knowing how their mother battled with a nasty divorce, leaving her to raise twins by herself. That in and of itself is what makes America beautiful. The fact that people can make it through anything, and they'll try until they do. If i ever met Ronde and Tiki's mother, i think i'd cry. She is an amazing woman, who has raised two amazing sons without the help of a fatherly influence.

If only all professional athletes were like this. Their mother should be so proud of them! They were perfect for the Visa commercial. I hope they make a fortune, they deserve it.

I think it is great that you survived even though you didn't have a father. I can relate to this after successfully earning a Bachelors and Masters degree from Mississippi State University. I am currently pursuing my career and hope to become as successful as you guys. I am proud of myself because my mom is a single parent that had four kids to raise. I am one of your biggest fans. I say Congratulations guys and good luck in your career in the NFL. God Bless

I think that is cool. Ronde Barber is my favorite cornerback. For a moment I did not know that he had a twin brother. I hope they will succeed and break NFL records.

My maiden name is Barber. My father, Frank Barber, was born and raised in Indian Rock, Virginia, which is approximately 30 minutes north of Roanoke. I am researching the Barber Genealogy and am curious if the family is related to the very famous twins - Ronde & Tiki. They do look (very much) like the Barbers of Indian Rock, Virginia. Please Reply. They are to be very proud of themselves and also a "salute" goes out to their mother. Sometimes, Barbers are very bad!!!!!!!!!

How INSPIRATIONAL! God can do anything if we just keep the faith and keep going no matter what life gives us, we can take lemons and make lemonade. Not succeeding ourselves, but be an inspirational to someone else on this journey called life.

Hi, I came across this site by doing some reserch on professional athletes who were born premature. I have a set of twins who were born at 28wks, they weight only 2 lbs. at birth (940gms. & 932gms.). I thinks that transulates to 2 pounds. I am very intrested in finding out about professional athletes who were born premature. If anyone out there has any info. on other professional athletes who were preemies. please send it my way, my e-mail (gsalas1011@aol.com) for subject use preemie athletes.

Thanks,

Gerardo

My family and I was wondering were the Twins inour family. My grandfather died awhile and we really want to get in touch with his side of the family. We are Barbers and Ronde and TiKi looks alot like the men o our family. My Grandfather name is Marshal Barber..he had a sister named Penny and a sister name Doris(still living)..we also know a cousin named Byron. My grandfather also talked about a son the went by the name of ponyboy.
